The Crazy Ones

The Crazy Ones

The Crazy Ones TV Show

There is a new sitcom on CBS which is known as “The Crazy Ones”. If you like  the stand-up comedian Robin Williams, this is his new comedy TV show. This is from David E. Kelley productions so when these two names worked together, you will surely expect a big burst of quirkiness enlaced with comical behaviors. Simon Roberts (Robin Williams) operates an advertising agency in Chicago together with his daughter, Sydney (Sarah Michelle Gellar). Roberts is a batty artistic genius who has an eccentric personality. His ideas and methods are exceptional. The artistic witty style of William and specific label of laughter will surely capture your interest in the show.

This is a nice sitcom showing a father and daughter relationship and Geller is doing a great job with her character as a daughter of Robin. Her work is to wrangle, wheedle and try to manage her dad in the pilot episode. She is throwing hilarious dialogues to bring laughs, but unfortunately she fails to deliver it. To summarize, the jokes are likely to appear forced. On the other hand, James Wolk (Zach Cropper) who is a co-star and Kelly Clarkson who is making a guest appearance in the pilot episode excels on their own character. They deliver their dialogues very well enough to become funny.

The first episode centers in a small crisis of the advertising agency which may lead of losing their biggest client. In order to solve this issue, Simon Roberts (Robin Williams) wants to start a vintage Micky D’s family campaign with the help of Clarkson enlivening the jingle. The pilot episode has a little bit of charm and enjoyable to watch, but it never completely satisfied the viewer’s wants. It is well made, but is not explosively hilarious, quirky or emotional level effective. But, they can still improve and strengthen these elements to beautify and make the show funnier.

There are some issues that can be found in the first episode such as it has a shorter time than the normal length of the show time, it seems incomplete and it is not a fathead comedy. It seems William’s character here is quite weird and inconsistent, showing some kind of uncanny actions of mental condition. But, in some instances he’s amazingly influencing in the show’s quieter situations and his silly reactions, expressions and noises still astonish as they are unique and not apparently reprocessed from the past shows. His relationship with his daughter Sydney is good and healthy as well.

After watching the pilot episode of this sitcom, it still offers humor and charm that encourage viewers to watch the future episodes. Watch the latest episodes at this link
